Irish Expertise to Support Dubai Technology Rollout
An Irish consortium has partnered with the Emergency Medical Services Dubai Training Institute (EMS-DTI) to deliver the latest pre-hospital emergency care mobile technology.
The move, which is designed to reduce emergency response times and thereby improve patient care in the emirate, will provide hardware, software and the necessary training for Dubai police and ambulance personnel so that they may operate to international standards.
Involved in the initiative are the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI), Valentia Technologies, the Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) and the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC), all of which will play an important part in the delivery of the project.
Peter Nelson, director of Valentia Technologies, said that the firm's CareMonX ePCR solution would provide the capability to deliver world-class EMS services.
"Our solution has a unique ability to incorporate the PHECC national standards, thereby offering consistency of treatment at the point of care throughout the ambulance service," he revealed.
The chief executive officer of the Dubai Ambulance Service, Khalifa Al Darrai, said that staff would be trained using international best practice standards by the RCSI and the DFB.
"The latest pre-hospital emergency care mobile technology, developed by Valentia Technologies, will support us in doing this," he added.
Irish prime minister Bertie Ahern attended the launch of the initiative at Dubai 's Sheikh Rashid Hospital Trauma Centre.
