Peter Nelson co-founded Valentia Technologies in 2004.

Peter qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986. From 1983 to 1987 he worked with KPMG in Dublin. From 1998 to 1999 he worked with Price Waterhouse in Melbourne, Australia.

Peter returned to Ireland in 1990 when he joined Cambridge Group plc as a structured finance specialist, later becoming group financial controller. In 1994 he joined the Dermot Desmond-owned IIU group where he held positions in structured finance, corporate finance and as finance director to online education publisher, Intuition Publishing. In 1998 he joined the Irish Times group as Head of Corporate Development. From 2002 to 2004 Peter worked as a business consultant to companies operating in residential healthcare, pharmaceutical distribution and IT.
