CareMonX™ CPDE Manager is a customized implementation of Valentia's Technologies PROMMS system for the Healthcare Professionals in-service education and training management.

Our development of PROMMS reflects an in-depth understanding of the demands that changing trends in the healthcare industry present for the education, certification, in-service training and continuous monitoring of work experience of professionals across the healthcare industry.

PROMMS provides healthcare authorities, statutory registration bodies and postgraduate colleges (professional membership institutes) with sophisticated tools to manage their interaction with healthcare professionals at various levels, ranging from registration/accreditation to clinical skills testing and from professional experience monitoring to complaints management and disciplinary measures.

PROMMS Modules
PROMMS has been designed on a modular structure for easy configuration and customisation to meet the varying requirements and structures of healthcare career lifecycle management and of associated educational systems. Core modules are:

Each module has a number of independent functional components that support flexible customisation to suit an enterprise's unique needs. Each module also has a browser-based interface that provides a facility for an enterprise's member clients to interact directly with the system.

Membership CRM Module

• Provides enterprises with a professional and modern approach for managing interaction with member clients (students, candidates and professionals, as well as other institutions)
• Supports fully integrated Email, SMS, VOIP and conventional paper communication between enterprise and member clients
• Offers comprehensive functionality for management and accounting of subscriptions, fees and other product billing by both online and conventional methods.
• Provides complete history of communications between the enterprise and member clients

Membership CRM Module

• Enables an enterprise to create its own workflows and associated datasets for various types of registration and accreditation activities
• Contains comprehensive event-driven automation various tasks. Additionally, custom connectors for legacy or third party systems enable on-demand (event-driven) data import, export and validation
• Client interface is fully roles-based, allowing member clients and third parties to input into the registration or accreditation process at a predetermined workflow/process stages
• Enable enterprises to amend/modify/create processes

Examination Creation and Management Module

• Allows an enterprise to specify various qualifications (e.g. degrees/diplomas) and create associated examination structures that candidates must follow to achieve respective qualification
• Comprehensive rules engine provides functionality to define the criteria that must be met for a candidate to be aligible for an exam
• Supports fully integrated exam structures, where a candidate has to pass more than one examination to attain a qualification as well as eligibility to appear in a subsequent examination
• Contains scoring schemas for MCQs, skills testing, interviews, published work, logbook and conventional essay type examinations
• Supports management of examination centre, venue, examiners, invigilator and seating quota with online self-service facility
• Accepts inputs from third party examination systems via a configurable XML interface
• Optional integration with Valentia Technologies computer-based examination, training and continuing professional development system

In-service Training, Planning and Monitoring Module

• Supports various stages of selection and management of candidate in-service training
• Offers automated matching of candidates with training positions based on various criteria, including personal and institutional preferences,qualifications and interview scores
• Supports a collaborative working environment across multiple institutions where training programs span multiple locations
  Candidates can self-manage their preferences and acceptance of various training positions and institutions
• Provides full lifecycle management of training rotations for single or multi-location training schemes
• Optional integration with Valentia Technologies professional logbook system (independent application) for complete management of training within a single start-to-finish environment

Continuous Professional Development and Education Module (CPDE)

• Enables syllabus and content creation, publication and distribution (via browser-based Content Management System incorporating SCORM-compliance tools)
• Supports import/use of existing SCORM-based content
• Contains self-monitoring and online attestation features, allowing member clients to manage their own CPD progress and thereby minimise interaction with the enterprise
• Automatic-alert features notifies member clients where either forecast or actual CPD progress deviates from prescribed standards or other pre-defined criteria
• Supports multiple clinical classifications (including ICD and internal work-related classifications)

System Architecture

PROMMS addresses the demands of full online interaction between an enterprise and its member clients while retaining the flexibility to accommodate conventional working environments (i.e. paper, fax, phone and third party systems).

It is written in C# and leverages Microsoft .NET technology on Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2005.

Its services-oriented architecture (SOA) supports SAML or any token-driven single sign-on service. All internal application programming interfaces are based on WSDL and run over IIS6. The system is fully scalable.

For enterprise users, the system has a desktop thin client, while for member client interaction, it has a comprehensive browser-based interface. The interface has been designed to simulate the Office12 GUI for optimal user experience.

As a pure .NET system, it offers easy localisation and supports all usability features that are offered by Microsoft Windows XP working environment.
